Free webinar “How to build and deploy Java applications on Azure” – Nov 23 at 18h

We would like to present an interesting webinar “How to build and deploy Java applications on Azure” from MS Dev Engagement team CEE on November 23, at 18:00-21:00, and provide some info about it.

Today, more and more Java developers are looking at how they can bring their existing Java applications to the cloud — or how to build new cloud-native applications. We have been working to make it easier for you to bring your Java applications to the cloud using the tools and frameworks you love. Join our free webinar “How to build and deploy Java applications on Azure” and learn how you can build, migrate, and scale Java applications on Azure using Azure services. We have top-level Java speakers that will help you better understand how to navigate the vast options for building and deploying Java applications on Azure.

Did you know that Microsoft maintains OpenJDK build ? We bet not all of your community members are familiar with that fact as well as the number of tools and plugins in VS Code, Azure and GitHub created specifically for Java developers. This is way we have created the CEE Java on Azure Webinar so that you can hear from our Azure experts how to code, deploy, and scale Java apps.

Join Bobur Umurzokov (Developer Advocate), Brian Benz (Senior Cloud Advocate), Steve Pincaud (Application Innovation Specialist), Ramya Oruganti (Senior Product Manager – Azure Functions) and Alex Yochev (CEE Dev Azure Product Marketing Manager Microsoft) and learn more about:

  • Our PaaS options such as Azure App Service – where you can run any JAR or WAR on top of popular application servers like Tomcat or JBoss.
  • Modernize Java Applications with Azure Spring App – a unique Azure service that provides a fully managed platform as a service solution for hosting Spring Boot microservice applications.
  • How to build serverless Java solutions using the power of serverless event-driven computing like Azure Functions.
  • How docker images with Java workloads could be deployed to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Perfecting Java CI/CD with GitHub Actions and App Service
  • Enabling reliable code delivery for the cloud with Container Apps
  • Build a real-time event-driven Java solution
  • Build Serverless APIs with Azure Functions Kafka Extensions

Get ready to deep dive into the practical aspects of the deployment options.

Konferencije JavaCro u 2022. / JavaCro Conferences in 2022

Ove godine pripremili smo zanimljive novosti vezano uz održavanje konferencije JavaCro!

(tip: scroll down for text in English)

“Best practices & success stories” i razmjeni iskustava.

This year, we have prepared some interesting news related to the JavaCro conference!

In the last 10 years, the JavaCro conferences were held in various locations in Croatia, most often at the seaside; however, this year we return to the place where the JavaCro story began – to Tuhelj. Those who have been with us from the very beginning will remember the newly completed Well Hotel and a number of interesting sessions from famous speakers, including Java Champions Gavin King (Hibernate), Juergen Hoeller (Spring, VMware), Angelika Langer (independent consultant), Geertjan Wielenga (Oracle, now Azul) and Matjaž B. Jurič (University of Ljubljana).

Many participants told us that the one-year gap between the two conferences is often a too long period in which technological progress does not slow down, but on the contrary, in the meantime a larger number of innovations appear that cannot be presented in a shorter time right after the announcement or are put “on hold” until the next conference. Furthermore, one annual conference is often burdened with many lectures in different tracks at the same time, so some quality lectures do not come to the fore or are put on a waiting list. And now even Java itself has two releases a year! Therefore, our idea is to hold two JavaCro conferences a year, one in the spring and the other in the fall, to get a faster and more appropriate exchange of information and timely sharing of news and accept more lectures. Moreover, our desire is to dedicate more time at the conference to the best practices, success stories, and exchange of experiences.

JavaCro conferences are known not only for excellent sessions and speakers but also for quality and productive socializing in less formal moments and a fun atmosphere when it is often easier to make contacts between participants and exchange knowledge and experiences, which will remain our practice in the future. Most often, these conversations and direct contact of all participants and speakers resulted in faster and better problem solving and technical optimization of solutions as well as the establishment of beneficial collaborations and partnerships.

Therefore, in 2022, we present two editions of the JavaCro conference, and the first 10th JavaCro’22 Spring conference will be held May 15 – 17 in Tuhelj.

We would like to celebrate this anniversary together and we are looking forward to seeing you at JavaCro’22!

Konferencija Javantura / Javantura Conference

Dragi članovi HUJAK-a i simpatizeri Jave i srodnih tehnologija,

HUJAK

Dear members of HUJAK and sympathizers of Java and related technologies,

We would like to inform you that due to the current restrictions and recommendations related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the information we currently have (January 2022), we will unfortunately not be able to hold the Javantura conference in the first part of 2022 as we intended!

Therefore, when the conditions related to conferences change, we will reconsider holding the Javantura conference and inform you about it.

Thank you for your understanding,
HUJAK
