#16 Java Zagreb Meetup – 11.12. u HUB385

global_456778650#16 Java Zagreb Meetup održat će se 11. prosinca u 18:00 u HUB385, Petračićeva 4, Zagreb, sponzor je Beta Tau Beta, a teme su:

  • Java and Atlassian – there and back again”, Dalibor Harmina, Beta Tau Beta d.o.o.
How can you describe end-to-end development process in 2-3 sentences? You can’t! But you can write one word that will give you a solution for this: Atlassian.
And if you want to know how (and how Java fits into this), well, you will need to listen carefully for about 40 minutes.
  • IoT architecture of the smartest two-wheeler on the planet”, Karlo Novak, Greyp Bikes d.o.o.
By launching a new G6 model, Greyp has raised the ladder in a cycling world. Developing an IoT system for such a complex product presents a great challenge, but with thoroughly elaborated architecture and right technical decisions we brought the G6 to the official title of the best (e-)mountain bike of 2019. How does a system powering it looks like? Where is Java in this story? Join us and find out why we’re “not a bike company” 😉

Vidimo se!

Meetupi u Zagrebu

global_456778650U Zagrebu je krajem 2016. osnovana nova Java meetup grupa nazvana jednostavno Java Zagreb koju vode Marko Juričić, Ivica Obestar, Lovro Pandžić i Petar Dučić iz našeg člana Infobipa.

Prvo okupljanje pod nazivom First Java Zgb official Meetup – Few talks + Few beers najavljeno je za 26. siječnja 2017. u 17:30 na adresi Olimp, Zadarska 80, Zagreb, a predstavit će dva predavanja:

  • Making Spring Data JPA Run – Milan Mimica
Spring Data JPA is cool. Really neat and cool. It’s just that one thing… it’s slow. How slow? Well, probably not slow enough for most usages. I guess it was written under the assumption that relational databases are generally slow, so no one will notice how slow Spring Data JPA really is. But we are using it in a very special way. So, we’re special, and Spring Data JPA is slow. We’ll make it faster together.
  • Java Puzzlers – Aleksandar Dostić
We aren’t sure about you, but working with Java 8 made one of the speakers to stop shaving and the other lose his sleep. We’ll show you some surprising, bizarre and inconceivable parts of Java and make sure that you won’t be (too) surprised when it hits you in production. As any other puzzlers talk, this session will consist of lots of puzzling questions, answers by the audience, t-shirts flying around (kidding) and a lot of fun (for sure), all for one purpose – to make you understand Java better.

One of the main founding ideas of Docker is to achieve that the environment used for application development is as similar as possible to the production one. That’s not a simple task when development consists of using GUI applications (such as Eclipse). Josip played a bit and has managed to create such a setup. In this talk he will briefly explain the motivation behind it, obstacles he encountered and experience he’s gained working on that solution.
  • Terminal tips’n’tricks – Robert Petranović
Robert will show a short demo how to deploy home setup (.bashrc, .vimrc, .tmux.conf, bash complete…) to multiple servers in a heartbeat!

The current version of Java – Java SE 8 – is free and available for redistribution for general purpose computing. Java SE continues to be available under the Oracle Binary Code License (BCL) free of charge.

JRE use for embedded devices and other computing environments may require a license fee from Oracle. Read more about embedded use of Java SE or contact your local Oracle sales representative to obtain a license.

Oracle Java SE Advanced and Oracle Java SE Suite have some features that are not available in the free version. – See the Java SE Products terms page for more information.

Također, postoje mnoge druge distribucije JDK-a i JRE-a osim Oraclove (npr. Azul, IBM i Red Hat). Primjerice, možete koristiti i OpenJDK iz open source projekta licenciranog pod licencom GPLv2 + CPE koji nema navedene komercijalne obveze, a koji čini osnovu za Oraclovu i mnoge druge distribucije JDK-a i JRE-a.

Kako bi dodatno pojasnili mišljenje Java zajednice, ovdje donosimo i odgovor grupe Java Championa na navedeni članak.

Nadam se da smo ovim putem pomogli razriješiti barem jedan dio nerazumijevanja oko Java licenciranja i potencijalnih komercijalnih dijelova.

Vaš HUJAK
